Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026. Written in plain words so you can actually understand it. The short version is one sentence: Your files never leave your PC.
1. Your documents and files
When you drop a document into Helena — a PDF, a Word file, a spreadsheet, a photo of a page — it is read and processed entirely on your own PC. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. Nothing is sent to a cloud AI service for reading. Nothing is used to train models. Your files never leave your PC.
This isn't a promise sitting on top of code that could do otherwise — the document-reading code has no network capability at all. It cannot transmit anything, even by accident. Reading text in images uses Tesseract, a free program you install yourself; it runs locally on your machine as an explicit opt-in, off by default.
2. Your “My info” profile
Helena can keep your details (name, address, email, phone — only what you choose to enter) so she can help fill out paperwork for you. This profile is stored as a plain file on your PC only, inside your project's local settings folder. It is never transmitted anywhere: no cloud, no telemetry, no analytics.
Every field is optional — leave blank anything you don't want stored. You can erase the entire profile with one button, and it's gone. Helena only uses these details for form-filling you explicitly ask for, and she confirms every value with you first.
3. What we never do
- No keystroke logging. Helena never records every key you press. She understands what you're working on from the active window and the screen — never from a log of your typing.
- No silent screen watching. Screen sharing is an explicit opt-in you turn on inside Helena, with a visible indicator while it's active. Nothing is captured without your say-so.
- No telemetry on your content. Error and crash reports are off by default. If you choose to send one, it carries only scrubbed technical details — never your prompts, chat content, documents, or project files.
- No sale of your data. We don't sell personal data. We don't run ads. Your information is not a product.
4. No external AI services
Helena has no place to enter an external AI key, because she never connects to one. There are no OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini settings in the product — her brain is built in and runs on your machine, and local Helena has no internet access at all. The only outside services behind Helena are Harrison Interactive's own (your account, license verification, and — if you choose it — our hosted compute) and Stripe's (payments). None of them ever receives your files, your prompts, or your work.
5. Account and billing data
To hold an account we store the basics: your email address and your license tier. Payments are processed securely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. Billing disputes and refunds are handled through Stripe's systems.
We keep only what running the service requires, and nothing more.
6. Children and schools
You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Schools are welcome — teachers are responsible for supervising student use and complying with their institution's policies.
7. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we'll post the update here with a new date. The new version applies going forward — we won't rewrite history on you.
